Charles is a partner at the firm of Armbruster, Dripps, Winterscheidt & Blotevogoel, L.L.C. He graduated from the University of Michigan in 1989 before attending law school at Washington University in St. Louis, Missouri. Since he entered private practice in 1992 he has devoted his career to fighting for the rights of injured individuals against large corporations.

Charles believes strongly in leveraging technology for the benefit of his clients. He has been on the cutting edge of courtroom technology, using computers in trial years before most firms ever considered doing so. His courtroom skill and experience is such that other firms have asked him to get involved in cases to serve as lead trial counsel.

For the last 15 years, Charles has traveled the country representing injured individuals. He has handled cases in 22 different states, and has obtained millions of dollars in verdicts and settlements for his clients. He has tried or settled 13 cases that resulted in recovery of $1,000,000 or more.

Recently, Charles and Michael Blotevogel represented an injured railroad trainman who developed cumulative injuries to his knees and hips from years of walking on oversized ballast in rail yards. The jury returned a verdict of $1,470,000 for the injured worker. What makes this result noteworthy is the fact that this result came at the end of the second trial of the case. The injured worker was originally represented by different attorneys. They tried the case to a defense verdict one year earlier. After successfully arguing for a new trial, Charles and Michael obtained this result using the same evidence and witnesses used in the first trial.

Currently, Charles focuses his practice on Federal Employers’ Liability Act (FELA) litigation, Federal Rail Safety Act (Whistleblower) claims, products liability, medical malpractice, automobile collisions, nursing home injuries and general personal injury litigation.
